I'm still mad about how it ended, and I can't find that many fix-it fics to my liking, so I'm making a letter to cope. Maybe by the next time I join a multifandom exchange involving Stranger Things, I'll use this. Or maybe I'll use this list of prompts to eventually write a fic about my feelings.

I have included suggested ships for each fandom, but as long as they don't break my DNW's I'm cool with you trying to convince me to ship another ship.

Laughing Tree Crossover Prompts

After Diani becomes who she is in the Age of Cul'Sir, do you think Murray and Taliesen would still support her? And what would they do if one of them (or Triftan) developed an aberrant mark?
The Queen's Blades rescuing Lucan after he was captured by Aundair. Bonus points if they're able to reconnect him with his sister and Lucan admits to Mina that he was in the wrong and that he doesn't blame the Stryke Force.
Esri dies and wakes up in his clone's body in Erandis's lair. He escapes only to be caught by Demise and then rescue-napped by the Traveler's Gift crew.
I have a crack theory where Finnian and Thora are stepsiblings. She's Finnian's only sibling, but after being disowned by the Tavin-Driftwood family he can't bring himself to admit that he has a sister, whether it be due to prejudice against her mark or due to the shame of how his family treated her.
The Traveler's Gift crew learning of Donnabella's aberrant mark. I am cool with Donnabella/Sohaina if you choose to go with this prompt.

Shadesri | Esri/Shade*: This was my first ship for the show because I mistook RA and Casey's natural chemistry as husband-and-wife for chemistry between their characters. I still find them cute.

Ari/Shade/Esri: either as a triad or as a vee with Shade in the middle. I also like the idea of Esri's relationships both being queerplatonic while Ari and Shade are romantic with each other.

Sleeping Beauty AU where River saved Thora from Cul'Sir, but couldn't do so fully and thus Thora is in a coma. Could be shippy, or could be the Stryke Force waking their mom up after 20 years
Spy X Family AU, in Thora adopts a psionic kid. This could be
- Ari or Esri, and Daine is the assassin that Thora marries
- Ari or Esri, and Thora is doing the job alongside Lucan. However, she begins to fall for her son's teacher, Arlo
- Donnabella, and Thora marries Arabella
AU where Thora and/or Esri survive Cul'Sir's attack and they join the Aberrant Resistance

Thora teaching Arlo and/or Arabella self-defense
One of the kids loses their mark. Maybe it's to Soryn's Ignite Dragonmark spell, or maybe it's a different way. Either way, the kid thinks that they're gonna get kicked out, and Thora has to explain that 1) the mark comes back, 2) that she knows this because it happened to her, and 3) even if for some reason the mark doesn't come back, Thora won't kick the kid out
AU where Ari doesn’t get stolen by the Forgotten Prince, so we get wacky Thelanian hijinks at the manor – then again, maybe the cost of restoring the manor without returning River is that Ari gets stolen alongside Puzzledust. In the meantime, I’m sure that Thora, Arlo, and Daine just love having to deal with all of this fey nonsense (/sarcasm for everyone except maybe Arlo)
AU where the journal + Greater Restoration allowed Esri to partially remember Ari
Take any scene after R.A. left the campaign, and rewrite it so that Esri was still an active member of the Stryke Force. Maybe he even dies and we get the clone!Esri arc!
AU where Soryn used his Ignite Dragonmark spell on one of the members of the Stryke Force (preferably Shade or Pog). Can Cul'Sir still use their powers against them when they don't currently have the mark? And how does Thora try to help them after they come back?
Burn Notice fusion in which
- Lucan is Michael, Mina is Madeline (but obviously Lucan's sister instead of his mom), and Thora is Sam. The reason why Thora is reporting on Lucan to the Dark Lanterns is because they'll poke around House Tarkanan too much otherwise. (Crossover bonus: Murray is Fiona in this AU)
- Same as previous, but instead of being Sam, Thora is Jesse. Lucan accidentally sets off the events that make Thora's mark manifest, and he tries to help her get back into the Dark Lanterns... only for Thora to accept aberrant mark and decide that she doesn't want to work for an organization that discriminated against her. Instead, she forms House Tarkanan.
- Thora is Michael, Daine is Fiona, and Lucan is Jesse. I think Thora would be more willing to leave the Dark Lanterns than Michael was willing to leave the CIA.
Modern AU where the Stryke Force plays a TTRPG that focuses on child characters (such as Tales from the Loop or Magical Burst) and their respective students are their characters (i.e. Esri plays Mo). IDK who the GM would be - Solarka maybe?
Daemon AU!
- As much as Amanatu is a jerk, including for calling Thora a crow, it would be cool if her daemon was a crow
- Is Kael Shade's daemon in this AU?
- All kalashtar of a particular lineage have similar daemons, so Esri has the same daemon as the rest of line of Noshaeran… or, he has the same type of daemon as Erandis, which further makes him an outcast from his immediate family
- Instead of (or in addition to) taking away being a Khoravar from Ari, the Forgotten Prince takes away Ari's daemon.

Thaine-specific Prompts (both romantic and platonic)

Soulmate AU where soulmates share dreams... and while Thora and Daine are at odds with each other, they don't get a good night's sleep unless they take anti-dreaming medication (that Riedra is trying to suppress)
Hurt/comfort in which Daine is taking care of Thora after Blackwheel (in which they're both hurt emotionally and Thora's hurt much worse physically)
Demiaroace Thora who doesn't develop feelings for Daine until around the time she leaves the Children of Khyber
Soulmate AU where Thora and Daine both know that they're soulmates from their first meeting, but Thora's aro-spec. Maybe it's negotiating how Daine/Siranna works in this context. Maybe it's just 1,000 words of internalized arophobia introspection about how Thora feels broken and unworthy of Daine, and how she had hoped that meeting Daine would've fixed her. Maybe Daine does some soul-searching, realizes he wants Thora more than any hypothetical romantic relationship, and brings up a QPR. Maybe Thora has finally come to terms with how despite being soulmates, she and Daine are incompatible since she's aroace and he wants a romantic relationship, and this doesn't make her a bad person, only to learn that she's demiaroace and have to go through a whole new round of questioning.
Oops! All Child Soldiers AU, in which Daine was doing mercenary work for House Deneith since a young age, while Thora lied about her age so she could join the Brelish military. Their Blackwheel team voices their concerns about recruiting a kid (possibly even a member of the Stryke Force), only for Thora and Daine to claim that they turned out just fine. (They didn't, and have to come to terms with this.) Bonus points for an epilogue in which the Stryke Force discover that Thora and Daine had also been child soldiers.
Mutual pining in which Thora and Daine both fantasize about shutting each other up mid-argument by making out
Detail Thora leaving the Children of Khyber. Was there a huge yelling match? Did she try to leave quietly, only for Daine to try and stop her? Or did she make it known that she was leaving?
What was Thora and Daine's conversation prior to Esri interrupting like in episode 58? I imagine there was some sort of Thora being like, "I have this all under control and don't need you mucking it up", and then Esri comes by and reveals just how little control Thora actually has.

Thorarlo Prompts

AU where Arlo worked at Morgrave University instead of the University of Wynarn, and he had a meet-ugly with Children of Khyber-era!Thora when she had to pivot from doing an assassination job to protecting him as a newly-manifested aberrant
Do the students ship them?
I like the idea of them being very low-key about their relationship and no one is fully sure about whether or not they're dating until Arlo suddenly moves in with Thora. (To Arlo and Thora, it isn't sudden. Actually announcing their relationship never crossed their minds.)
They initially don't want to get married because neither of them like the idea of a paper trail. (For Thora, it's her spy past. For Arlo, it's his changeling upbringing.) However, they then realize that thanks to the school they already have a paper trail, and honestly there's less paperwork if they just get married.
Thora and Arlo pretending that Arlo's groundskeeper persona is a different person from Arlo, and the two of them RP-ing Thora cheating on Arlo with the groundskeeper.
I like the idea of Thora being theoretically being the more experienced partner in terms of romance, except most if not all of her adult relationships were honeypot traps from her time as a spy, so whether or not she's more experienced than Arlo at handling real feelings for someone is questionable.
AU where Arlo's mark manifested earlier, he somehow got involved with the Children of Khyber, and he decided to leave for Stormreach with Thora because he likes teaching (and her)
F/F in which Arlo is female and goes by the name Orla. Was the original persona a female elf instead of a male elf? Or is the changeling female with a male persona? And does she still present as a male elf when around people other than Thora, or does she publicly come out as female?
I like the idea of Arlo falling for Thora some time between first meeting her and the start of the school year, while Thora is demiaroace, oblivious to Arlo's feelings for her, and when she finally develops feelings for him she feels horrible because she's his boss.
First time willingly showing their true faces to each other. (For Arlo, it's his mark and his true form. For Thora, it's her scar.)
Arlo finally telling Thora his real name as a sign of love and trust. Bonus points if she gave him the option to either go by "Arlo" or his real name during his job interview, and he chose to go by Arlo because his feelings about his true self were still very raw after getting rejected by his family.
Arlo asking Thora for defense lessons, since in the past his go-to self-defense skill is "blend into a crowd and shapeshift often enough that whomever's after you can't find you", except that won't work if he's trying to defend the kids. Bonus points if their faces get very close and the lesson devolves into blushing and maybe even kissing.
AU where Thora decided to form the Tarkanan Principality (with or without Daine) in the Lhazaar Principalities instead of Greymalkin Academy in Stormreach. Meanwhile, Arlo has been exiled from his principality (Grey Tide or otherwise) due to his mark.
AU where Thora got replaced by a changeling around episode 167, and there's more time between it and the proclamation in 168. Arlo is the first to notice due to not!Thora forgetting to hide some of the less common tells that typically only other changelings notice. (That, and/or the two of them haven't been the most forthcoming about their relationship, so not!Thora brushes off Arlo bc she doesn't know they're together.)
Arlo finding out what Thora's mark does via her always knowing his identity
Outsider POV of Thorarlo, in which she appears to have a bunch of suitors but they are all just Arlo doing a changeling courtship ritual

Yuletide Nominations in Progress

I am at 4/5 fandoms nommed, and out of those fandoms 3/4 of them have 3/4 character slots. I need to figure out a fourth character each for Khyber Shards, Blades and Banners, and The Queen's Blades to nominate.

I'm also planning on nominating a fifth fandom, not to request, but to pad out my offers. I'm also planning on offering The Magnus Protocol, and if I finish Oathsworn in time I'll offer that as well.

Today at APS: seeing people and briefly wondering if I know them. I did manage to find my advisor and a post-doc from my lab. Other people I quickly realize I don't know. The most awkward part is seeing an androgynous person with a short enough buzz cut and briefly wondering if they're my friend/former crush whom I haven't heard from in months... and then I remember that while she was the only STEM person in my old D&D group, she's also a biologist, not a physicist.

Too many ideas for this tiny fandom, not enough time to write them all... And yes, these are all writing prompts. If I did all my art prompts we'd be here forever. I also didn't go back to grab all my prompts from the autoapp, so if none of these prompts strike your muse, consider looking there.

Prompts that only require you to watch the first two episodes or episodes 37 & 38
Do not that I haven't separated them, so if you started at episode 1, there will be mild spoilers. If you don't want spoilers, then please go to my 2024 Yuletide Letter for spoiler-less prompts. (My Yuletide letter also has prompts for if you'd rather do worldbuilding.)

The Stryke Force telling Thora that they killed Soryn in the future. Does she feel any relief from this, knowing that they killed the man she got maimed defending them from?
After disappearing from the main timeline, Cadroc and Ilya appear on the deck of the Wyldcat in the Age of Cul'Sir timeline. On one hand, they now know that killing Cul'Sir in a different timeline was pointless in their own timeline. On the other hand, they also know that they didn't doom their kids to nonexistence.
Erandis gets restored back to life, but her mark, other abilities, and possibly memories of unlife were atrophied in the process so now she's very vulnerable. Now, the safest space for her to be is Greymalkin Academy.
Thora and Arlo go to an academic conference and oh no, there's only one bed
Thora teaching Arlo and/or Arabella self-defense
A new fertility clinic opens in Grindstone. Esri keeps getting letters suggesting that he donate sperm. For once, Noshaeran and Erandis are in agreement.
Post-canon crossover with Blades and Banners, in which Esri dies in 1005 YK, and the crew of The Traveler's Gift find him and rescue (rescue-nap?) him from the Bloodsails.

Canon Divergent AU's

One of the kids loses their mark. Maybe it's to Soryn's Ignite Dragonmark spell, or maybe it's a different way. Either way, the kid thinks that they're gonna get kicked out, and Thora has to explain that 1) the mark comes back, 2) that she knows this because it happened to her, and 3) even if for some reason the mark doesn't come back, Thora won't kick the kid out
AU where Ari doesn’t get stolen by the Forgotten Prince, so we get wacky Thelanian hijinks at the manor – then again, maybe the cost of restoring the manor without returning River is that Ari gets stolen alongside Puzzledust. In the meantime, I’m sure that Thora, Arlo, and Daine just love having to deal with all of this fey nonsense (/sarcasm for everyone except maybe Arlo)
AU where the journal + Greater Restoration allowed Esri to partially remember Ari
Mina isn’t Lucan’s sister – she’s his daughter, as the result of Lucan getting Thora pregnant when they were both teenagers. They were having a hard time supporting her and themselves, so they joined the army together. Mina was raised by Lucan’s parents while Thora and Lucan sent home money to raise her, but after Thora’s mark manifested the Stellos grandparents wanted nothing to do with Thora (including her money, so she still has a nest egg for the school even though it’s smaller). While with the Children of Khyber, Thora would’ve tried to reconnect (who knows how well that went). I imagine that either Lucan would’ve tried to get Thora to steal the Vampire’s Blade instead of Mina, or that arc is much more fraught.
- Much further down the line in this AU, even if Mina ended up becoming Red and then Imperator Stellos, would she have stayed loyal to Cul’Sir? Or would she have become a double agent after learning that Cul’Sir killed her mother? (Maybe she could keep Nisaria from going too evil if Mina is able to maintain her cover for long enough?)
- AU of this AU where Thora grits her teeth and stays with the Children of Khyber because it means she can stay close to her daughter.
Take any scene after R.A. left the campaign, and rewrite it so that Esri was still an active member of the Stryke Force. Maybe he even dies and we get the clone!Esri arc!
AU where Thora's mission to find information on the retrievers goes horribly wrong, and she needs to be rescued. Or maybe it goes horribly wrong, but no one notices for a while (it's an AU where Cul'Sir doesn't immediately issue his ultimatum) because Thora has been either mind controlled or replaced by a changeling.
AU where Thora survives Cul’Sir, but she’s paralyzed. (Aka the “we heard you liked Professor X parallels so we’re putting more Professor X parallels in your Professor X expie” AU)

AU where Soryn used his Ignite Dragonmark spell on one of the members of the Stryke Force (preferably Shade or Pog). Can Cul'Sir still use their powers against them when they don't currently have the mark? And how does Thora try to help them after they come back?
AU where Donnabella and Bajok went back in time with the Stryke Force instead of Cadroc and Ilya (they didn't want Arabella and Durgen to be orphans), and somehow Donnabella survives the time bomb. Due to this, Donnabella is able to go back to Stormreach and get hugged by her mom.

More-than-just Canon Divergent AU's

Burn Notice fusion in which Lucan is Michael, Mina is Madeline (but obviously Lucan's sister instead of his mom), and Thora is Sam. The reason why Thora is reporting on Lucan to the Dark Lanterns is because they'll poke around House Tarkanan too much otherwise.
Burn Notice fusion, but instead of being Sam, Thora is Jesse. Lucan accidentally sets off the events that make Thora's mark manifest, and he tries to help her get back into the Dark Lanterns... only for Thora to accept aberrant mark and decide that she doesn't want to work for an organization that discriminated against her. Instead, she forms House Tarkanan.
Star Trek fusion. I'd especially like to see sleepy cuddles between Thora (ex-member of the Federation) and Arlo (who is a Star Trek changeling and thus more goopy). I'll let you decide if dragonmarks still exist in this AU. Stuff focusing on Forge and the Synth ban could also be interesting.
Modern AU where the students play D&D and their respective Stryke Force characters are their D&D characters (i.e. Mo plays Esri). Donnabella or River is the GM.
Modern AU where the Stryke Force plays a TTRPG that focuses on child characters (such as Tales from the Loop or Magical Burst) and their respective students are their characters (i.e. Esri plays Mo). IDK who the GM would be - Solarka maybe?
"First words on skin" Soulmate AU where Arlo has the words "Ah, Professor Fletcher, good to see you" on his arm, aka the words that Thora canonically first said to him. This helps push him into becoming the eighth and final Arlo
Daemon AU!
- As much as Amanatu is a jerk, including for calling Thora a crow, it would be cool if her daemon was a crow
- Is Kael Shade's daemon in this AU?
- All kalashtar of a particular lineage have similar daemons, so Esri has the same daemon as the rest of line of Noshaeran… or, he has the same type of daemon as Erandis, which further makes him an outcast from his immediate family
- Instead of (or in addition to) taking away being a Khoravar from Ari, the Forgotten Prince takes away Ari's daemon.

And then Soryn's burn damaged her scent gland, further throwing things off, so she was very surprised to get her second ever heat/rut. Preferably, Thora is otherwise sexually experienced from her Dark Lantern days, she just doesn’t know what to do w/her body right now. Suggested ships: Daine/Thora (either alpha!Daine/omega!Thora or alpha4alpha) or Arlo/Thora (in which all changelings are betas, but Arlo uses shapeshifting to help Thora either by giving himself a vagina (alpha!Thora) or by faking a knot (omega!Thora)).
- As an alternative to freak Thora out even more, what if this is her first ever heat/rut? It could be a case of "alpha turns into omega after trauma" or "omega turns into alpha after trauma", which I think the burn should count as. As yet another alternative, maybe we could take the "Thora joined the military before she presented" idea even further, and part of medical screening also involved testing to see if she was A/B/O and putting her on suppressants, and now she's finally presenting her secondary sex traits 15+ years later than is normal

Help, the brainrot is extremely real. At this rate, when it finally subsides it'll be in favor of Blades & Banners, aka the sequel that will hopefully be more popular so that I won't spend two years (and counting) as the only fanfiction author of the fandom.
